This is a one-hour, web-based CME activity consisting of a video and supporting slides. The program features model encounters between a physician, a patient, and a certified diabetes educator. Incorporated within are select segments and data from a live satellite symposium held in conjunction with the American College of Osteopathic Internists (ACOI) 67th Annual Convention and Scientific Sessions held on October 11, 2007, in Boston, MA. In addition, the nationally recognized chairperson provides expert commentary on the patient interactions.
The activity is certified for both allopathic (MD) and osteopathic (DO) CME credits through Medical Education Resources and the American College of Osteopathic Internists respectively.
